About the Design

Artistic reproduction of Turkish textile fragment dated to the second half of the 16th Century from

the Ottoman Empire. Designed for SCA garb.

Inspiration for this design was from the open source Turkish Cultural Foundation and can been viewed here: http://www.turkishculture.org/textile-arts/fabrics-and-textiles-67.htm I have used an alternate colour to the original sample, instead of of faded red or dusky pink I have used a pale indigo which was also a common colour used in ottoman textile design. It was likely the original fabric was silk, and coloured with kermis red and gold. Try spoonflower's satin fabric to make a kaftan or some of the heavier canvases for accessories such as cushions and other decor. This design version has light texturing to imitate a more natural look. If you would like this design in block colours without the texturing please message me.
