Hemlines were high (at least compared to 1910) and waistlines were low in 1930 when this advertisement for patterns you could send away for ran in the August 16 issue of the farm magazine, Pacific Rural Press. Each pattern cost fifteen cents, and allowed the farm based woman a chance to sew herself a new and fashionable wardrobe, with no need to drive into a more urban area or send away to Sears.
