Snow Christmas XMas Fun Festive Whimsical.
This design is suited to reproduce on any size fabric. These adorable festive snowmen would make a great TREE SKIRT, APRON, TABLE RUNNER, FLEECE THROW, PILLOWS, Clothing & even cut apart for ornaments. There are 5 Snowman Christmas themes on this design, FAITH, GIFTS, DECORATIONS, FRIENDS & FAMILY. I used my concept of snowmen while adjusting the overall feel of the characters to have larger happy eyes, very rosy cheeks as well as other design elements popular to the times in my original creation. After researching colors used in print from the 50's, I used the actual muted red, green, teal blue and yellow I saw in the majority of original ads & printed materials. I also created the art in the same concept as what was available for printing in color at the time to achieve as close to an actual Retro feel as possible while utilizing my modern Apple computer with Photoshop. Each Snowman grouping of 1 can be made separately into pillow toppers, larger quilt squares or panels for a tree skirt. Contact me & I can see about getting those designs to you. I started with watercolor washes of the snowmen & ink drawings of the trees. I scanned these into my program then methodically chose each color space within my ink lines to fill with my "Retro" colors. Back in the 50's right up until computers took over the print industry in the 80's, printing pre-art was done much the same way. Taking a photo of a drawing, using the negative to create aprinting plate for the press. Each color was imaged onto the black & white print with separate runs for each color through the press. This process was long & tedious, requiring multitudes of artist & camera employees. Now, the computer has opened endless possibilities in a fraction of the time actually creating many more jobs for Graphic Designers today.
