In August 2012 I had the distinctly unpleasant experience of trying to make a left jughandle turn into Princeton NJ from route 1. Unfortunately for me, visiting from 3000 miles away, they had the jughandle turns closed as a traffic experiment. (The experiment was discontinued as a failure in October 2012). But October was too late for me as I drove up to the next exit and tried to figure out a way back to route 1 so I could make a right into the town of Princeton instead of a left. Take this green and blue design and imagine it a road map. Then try to drive it. Make a U turn at every arrow and don't drive on the wrong side of the road. Forget Route 66. It has a song, but it is no longer there. Route 1 is the real mother road from Maine to Florida, and still in full service. Of course that service is full of traffic lights and businesses, which makes it a little slow going in many places. Just be glad you are not going to Princeton, and only know one way, and they have that way closed. (file k88g2)
