The rose which I painted is one that grew in my antique rose garden. The "insect" is a piano keyboard which I drew and then morphed into this insect shape, as if it is in flight. That is what inspired my title: Flights of Imagination. I also have written many songs. Sometimes I take the same idea and play with it both visually and musically. That is a fascinating activity to me, to see how I can paint a melody, or sing a painting. In the past few years I have learned it is not always necessary for me to know where a design is headed. As a matter of fact, I often end up with my favorite designs when I work this way, just following the creative urges wherever they may lead. After all, the worst thing that can happen is that I'll decide to start over. In this large scale the design is probably best for large projects like an accent wall, a tablecloth, a throw blanket or a duvet cover. If you like dramatic clothing, that's an option too! Don't let my imagination limit yours! As the collection develops it will contain other designs inspired by this theme, coordinates and various sizes of the designs.
