macarons. And English Breakfast tea of course!
This is inspired by many afternoon tea's I've enjoyed over the years, from my grandmothers kitchen to a champagne afternoon tea at the Ritz Hotel. The important elements are the fine bone china, Good quality freshly brewed breakfast tea (or Earl Grey if you must!) Scones, Clotted cream from either Devon or Cornwall. A tart home made jam. Tiny finger sandwiches with the crusts cut off, preferably a salmon, ham and cheese selection. Strawberries. Cupcakes and macarons are just a nice addition.
