About the Design

This is a smaller version of Spoonflower's Color Map reshaped for wallpaper swatch instead of a yard

of fabric.

This design is Spoonflower's whole-yard-of-fabric Color Map (#509390) reshaped for wallpaper swatch or gift wrap. The hex codes and other text labels are all theirs. I just removed the excess areas to fit it exactly onto a 24 inch by 12 inch wallpaper swatch instead, without any dpi resizing. So all the writing is just as readable but the individual colour chips are smaller. You get 6 copies on a roll of gift wrap - which might be useful for sending out to clients. On some Spoonflower fabric widths you get 1.5 copies on a fat quarter (always getting the bright colours) or up to 6 copies on a yard. So it's a slightly cheaper way of testing how the colours vary on the more expensive fabrics if you need to compare several fabric types. Each colour chip on this smaller version is now just over half an inch wide by just under one third of an inch high (still having some white-space between them for readability). The grey-scales and near-blacks had to go but I shifted the non-duplicate "essential" bright hues into the existing gap before the pastels. The missing mid-blue is identical to Y7 and the missing yellow is very close to D1 and C3. If you want the official large version of Spoonflower's Color Map on wallpaper, you have to order it from a special page (http://www.spoonflower.com/design_tools), instead of using their original fabric page, and select the correct material type from the drop-down list. Then you'll get one which is multiple feet long and oriented the other way on the paper. If you would rather start from the RGB coding, then other arrangements of colours are available. Eg my personal preference is a palette organised by hue triangle (https://www.spoonflower.com/designs/490873).
