About the Design

An arts and crafts garden pattern from William Morris in 1892 inspired by the early blossoms of the

blackthorn tree, tulips and wildflowers.

Most often used as wallpaper or curtains in the homes of the Victorian elite who could afford this expensive pattern that was created in the traditional, and lengthy process of wood block stamping. A reprint of a cleaned up version of an authentic antique wallpaper sample from the 1890's adapted with lighter vintage pink color palatte. For the original wallpaper sample color, and other colorways and sizes for this design, see the SalvageScapes collection BLACKTHORN - WILLIAM MORRIS.
