Welcome to PlanetAZ, where we celebrate the lovely colors of life in the Sonoran Desert. This is Melanie’s original pattern, Barrels in the Dunes. Abstracted barrel cacti in clusters and singlets range over an undulating design inspired by an ancient Japanese stepped motif. Barrel cacti are abundant in our region. Contrary to what their name may suggest, they are not a good source of water if you are athirst in the desert! Sand dunes do exist in the Sonoran Desert, but the most common plants there would be cholla, creosote, and yucca. This pattern pays tribute to the fascinating geometry found throughout the natural world. It would be my pleasure to adapt this design to YOUR personal color scheme, or to adjust the scale so it will be perfect for YOUR project. These desert-inspired designs are a joy to create!
