digital tools. It has now morphed into a grand fiesta!
My idea for this design began with the concept of May Day. In Scandinavian countries, the celebration of this day includes dancing around a Maypole. I decided the dancers might as well be polka dots too, which is why I did an aerial view. Then the dancers began to remind me of Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) celebration within the Hispanic culture. During my years of being a bilingual educator in Texas I had close contact with this beautiful tradition, with its bright colors, twirling skirts and Mariachi bands. I can almost hear the dancers' shoes tapping away as they dance across the stage! SO - the theme remains May celebrations but involves two very different cultures! It's a true multi-cultural design. It celebrates my Norwegian heritage as well as my experiences within the Mexican community in Texas. The design is also a color wheel, including both primary and secondary colors. This jumbo scale of the design is especially for those of you wanting to create a bright and dramatic look in your decor! Use it for a joyful duvet cover or throw blanket. Or perhaps you would enjoy it as an accent wall for a playroom or at a dance studio! As the collection develops there will be some other colorways, and some other background versions. Each will be available in multiple sizes. There will also be some coordinates. Need a new size now? Send me a message! Copyright - Mary Beglau Wykes - May 8, 2022
