rise from a swirling, stormy sea.
The title, "Salty Sea Dragons" is a double entendre referring the the briny nature of the sea as well as to the attitude of these dragons, and my own playfulness too I reckon. This design is especially for the kiddos, filled with fantasy and fun. Since it is primarily an abstract, it's a bit of a puzzle for them, meant to stimulate their imaginations as my father did mine. He was always pointing to the clouds, or water spots on the ceiling and asking, "What do you see?" When I was little I thought it was a game; but at this point I believe it was an intentional nurturing of the creative mind. When sewing for the children, a small scale of this design could be used so many ways. How about some jammies, or a soft Minky throw blanket? A t-shirt? A swimsuit? I also see it used as a fun filler or blender in a quilt. In the larger scale it would make a cool border! Need a different size? Just ask and I will get right on it!
